My son is in the SD County jail and wshen he tries to call me collect, it says the call can not go through and to call PCS. I called it and it just keeps repeating the same thing. Why can't the calls go through?

my boyfriend had his sentencing trial this morning at the shwartz courthouse in san diego, he got taken in imediatly with no self surrender date and i have been trying to find him in the systems and havent been able to, its been a whole 12 hours later and hes still no where to be found, does it take longer when its a federal case in a state prison?will i not be able to talk to him till he gets to his permanent facility? can i just go to the courthouse and ask where they put him?
