Good Behavior

Interview with Tim and Bob

JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior?
Tim: The good thing was, that I didn't need to be on good behavior. I only spent the one night in jail. I went through all the classes and got my license back a year later.
Bob: generally nobody serves a full sentence unless you mess up really bad.

JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior?
Tim: I have no idea. I always figured it was a percentage of your over all time and it would be cut down by weeks or months depending on the term of your sentence. Luckily I was only slated to do one night.
Bob: its standard you dont recieve any more for being more "good". I was sentenced to a year and served just under 9 months

JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off? Did you ever witness somebody losing time off for good behavior?
Tim: I would assume that you would have to involve any thing that violates the jail policies or breaks the law. No drugs, no fighting, no smuggling, no riots, no alcohol and no weapons. I'm sure that the prison system would love to just tack more time on to a sentence for a repeat offender.
